For the last two weeks I have consumed with range hood designs. I am working on two very different houses, one with a large kitchen and one with a small but in each this one element is all important. There are so many different options but you must think critically about what fits the style of your house and the tone of your space.
Will it be wood and if so will it be refined or rustic?
And proportion is so important. Note the skimpy brackets above. There is no way that they could actually support the weight of the hood. Result of using them? They scream fake. I spent 30 minutes on a job site yesterday making SURE this didn’t happen. In the end, I ran back to the office to get my Fibonacci scale to make sure we got the proportions right.
How about stone? Old world or sleek and modern?
Metal? Stainless? With straps or without? Copper? Round or square?
Sometimes, the simplest solution is the best. I love this.
See what I mean? Lots of choices. Many decisions to make. Which do you prefer?
